WEDDING: JULIEN & SARAH

Great time in Santa Barbara over the weekend celebrating Julien and Sarah as well as hanging with LA friends we miss so much.  Despite the gnarly the wind storm, the wedding was so awesome, especially the live band JB Projects and Julien's stellar dance moves.

Hamlet stole the show!

Taking cover from the wind.

LACMA

Joyce and I made a quick trip to LA to check out the DVF - Journey of a Dress exhibit before it closed at the end of the month.  Of course we also stopped by some other favorite spots like Surfas and Helms Bakery.

The exhibit was better than I expected.  The room was wall to wall graphics of her most famous prints and it was a true archive filled with all of her best work dating from the beginning to the present.

No stop at LACMA is complete without a stroll through this piece.  Lost in a sea of noodles.

Never forget "love is life".  We all need it to get through this broken world.

FOODVENTURE: AFTERS ICE CREAM & BESTIA

What started as a normal Sunday with church and a need to get some lunch turned into quite the foodventure. We were with the Turners and of course Billy was hyped to go to Afters Ice Cream since church let out at the perfect time to snag a prime spot in line prior to opening.  See neither his wife or mine had the pleasure of eating this heavenly treat, so it only made sense.

Joyce finally got her milky bun.  Glazed donut stuffed with churro ice cream.

After lunch and a nap we grabbed a late bite with our LA foodie friends Amar and Suzing at downtown LA spot Bestia.

If there is bone marrow on the menu, we try it.  It worked real well with the spinach gnocci.

Cavatelli Alla Norcina: ricotta dumplings and housemade pork sausage with black truffles and grana padano.

This happened because one is just not enough.  Spaghetti Rustichella: sea urchin and squid ink bottarga with garlic, calabrian chiles, and breadcrumbs.

PRINTS

Canvas prints are a solid way to add color to bare walls in the house, just make sure the image you are printing is of high resolution so it prints clearly.  We have found that Costco is our go to place to get ours made.  The quality is good and the turn around time is quick.  Joyce and I finally had a few made from our honeymoon and wedding.
